Like water from a spring, Seal Prince and the Roof Rats offer a refreshing perspective on the struggles of modern times, anchored in a heart-felt vision of re-connection with self, place and community. Formed in 2022 from a merging of frontman Lachie Chomley's gifts as a singer and performer, and passion for environmental and social justice, they've been on a wild journey, spreading their inimitable earth-folk flavours across so-called Australia.
Their live show is playful and raucous one minute, tender and heartfelt the next, weaving into that healing feeling place. They have dropped jaws and opened hearts in cities and country towns alike, touring the Barwon River Song across TAS, VIC and WA in 2024/25, playing Nannup Music Festival, the National Celtic and Newport folk festivals, and seeing collaborations with prominent folk artists including Gusto Gusto, Daniel Townsend and Sarah Carroll.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge and pay our deepest respects to the traditional custodians of the lands on which we create... here on Wadawurrung country and all the places we take our music. To the ancestors of these countries, to elders present and emerging, we give thanks and acknowledge the harm of colonisation, that sovereignty was never ceded.
